The person receiving reiki lies fully clothed on my treatment bed, and I have a soft blanket to keep you warm and relaxed. While I close the curtains and have soft lighting, some clients also like to wear an eye mask.
When you are lying comfortably, through a light touch or a gentle hovering of hands, I then help channel healing energy into your body. I generally start at your head and work round your body, but depending on your needs, I may focus the channelling on one particular area, such as your shoulder, hips or knees.
Everyone’s experience of reiki is different.
Some people feel a warmth or tingling where my hands are, while others just feel a deep relaxation. Many people fall asleep!
Reiki is a holistic therapy and can be used to compliment your medication.
You should not stop taking your medication, and reiki is definitely not a replacement for any medical treatment you may be undergoing.
Please consult your doctor if you have any concerns. ,
